In Saurashtra, summer arrives early and stays long, and so does the wish for smooth skin without daily shaving or waxing. The trick is to start before you need it.
Laser hair removal is a course, not a session
Lasers only affect hairs in their active growing phase, and only some hairs are in that phase at any time. That is why most people need six to ten sessions, spaced roughly four to eight weeks apart depending on the body area. A full course therefore takes several months.
Start in December, and by April most people have had three or four sessions and notice a clear reduction. Start in April, and you are still at the beginning when summer is at its peak.
Why winter suits brown skin
- Less tanning. Tanned skin absorbs more laser energy, which raises the risk of burns and dark patches. Winter skin is usually at its lightest, allowing safer, more consistent settings.
- Fewer postponed sessions. A strong tan or sunburn can mean delaying a session; this happens less in winter.
- Easier aftercare. Treated skin should be protected from sun for a few weeks. Long sleeves and covered legs make that simple.
- Less sweating and heat on freshly treated skin, which makes the first day or two more comfortable.
Planning your winter start
- Book a consultation in November or early December: skin type, hair, any hormonal causes, and a test patch if needed.
- Stop waxing and plucking for about four weeks before the first session. Shaving is fine.
- Schedule sessions at the interval your doctor recommends for each area, and keep to them.
- Keep using sunscreen on exposed treated areas; winter sun in Gujarat is still strong.
What if you start later?
You can start in any season. In summer, protect treated areas carefully, avoid tanning, and expect that some sessions may be timed around holidays or sun exposure. Results are similar with careful planning; the timing is just less convenient.
