Why plan your wedding skin with a dermatologist

A wedding is not one day: there are engagement photos, haldi, mehendi, sangeet and the reception, often under strong lights and cameras, and all of it lives on in photos and family videos. Facials and make-up can only do so much if acne, marks, pigmentation, tan or unwanted hair are the real concern.
A bridal programme at OrnaSkin starts with a consultation with the dermatologist, who looks at what bothers you most, your skin type and your dates, and then plans medical treatments first and glow treatments last, so your skin is at its best, and settled, on each day. The improvements also last well beyond the wedding.
Your countdown, by how much time you have
Skin check & home routine
Start now
Start with a consultation and a routine that suits your skin; it is the base for everything else.
Start now
Enough time for a full course of sessions, 4–6 weeks apart.
Start now
Best time: medicines and peels have time to clear acne and fade marks.
Start now
Time for a laser or subcision course, with the last session at least 6 weeks before.
Start now
Time for a full toning or peel course, plus sun protection.
Start now
A series of light peels for clarity and glow.
Later in the plan
Best started about 3 months before, so the course finishes in time.
Later in the plan
Plan these for about 4–6 weeks before, with a review visit.
Start now
Monthly sessions keep skin clear while other treatments work.

Still worth starting; we choose quicker, gentler options.
After the wedding

Gentle sessions only, with the last one 1–2 weeks before.
Start now
Light peels, with the last one at least 2 weeks before.

Good timing: 4–6 weeks before leaves room for a review and top-up.

Monthly sessions, then one 3–5 days before the wedding.
Skin check & home routine
Start now
Keep it simple and familiar. No new strong products now.
After the wedding
Too close to start. Shave or trim for now and begin after the wedding.
Possible, with limits
Calming care only, plus a plan for a sudden spot near the day.
After the wedding
Better after the wedding.
After the wedding
No new lasers now. Sunscreen and a calming routine.
After the wedding
Too close: any flaking should never be visible on the day.
After the wedding
Too close: small bumps or bruises need time to settle.
After the wedding
Too close for a first treatment. Don’t try anything new now.
Start now
Your final glow session, 3–5 days before the wedding.
A general guide. Your own plan depends on your skin, your concerns and the dates of every function, not only the wedding day. Grooms and family welcome too.
What a programme can include
- Acne and acne marks: medicines, acne treatment and peels.
- Pigmentation, tan and uneven tone: pigmentation treatment, laser toning and sun protection.
- Unwanted hair: laser hair reduction, ideally started early.
- Acne scars and texture: acne scar treatment when time allows.
- Glow and hydration: hydra facial and medi-facials, skin boosters and exosomes.
- Fine lines and a rested look: Botox or fillers, timed carefully, if you want them.
- Hands, feet, back and arms, which show in bridal outfits, and hair fall before the wedding with hair treatment.
What to expect
6 months
Consultation, routine, and courses that need time: laser hair reduction, acne or scar treatment.
3 months
Pigmentation and glow courses: laser toning, peels, skin boosters.
4–6 weeks
Final medical sessions; Botox or fillers if planned, with a review.
Final week
Nothing new. A glow facial 3–5 days before, then rest, water and sunscreen.
Every plan is personal. Results depend on your skin, your concerns and how early you start.
Who it suits
Brides and grooms, and anyone with a big family function coming up: mothers, sisters, cousins and friends. It suits all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin, because each step is chosen and timed for you. If you are pregnant or planning pregnancy soon, tell us: some treatments and creams are changed or avoided.
Before, during and after
Before
Book your first consultation as early as you can and bring the dates of every function. Mention anything you have reacted to before, including parlour treatments, bleach or products, and any medicines you take.
During the programme
Most visits are short. Treatments are spaced so that each one settles before the next, and the most visible ones finish well before your functions. Keep up the home routine and sunscreen every day; they make the clinic treatments work better.
After the wedding
Many people continue a lighter maintenance plan, and finish courses such as laser hair reduction or scar treatment that were started for the wedding.
Risks and how we minimise them
Every treatment in a programme has its own small risks, such as redness, flaking, temporary darkening on brown skin or bruising after injections, which are explained on each treatment’s page. The biggest risk before a wedding is timing: a new treatment too close to the day. We avoid that by planning backwards from your dates, testing new treatments well in advance, and never introducing anything new in the final weeks.
